I just wanna say I love this IF to death! It's one of my top five among the countless I play here on itch. And I was eagerly counting down the days for this release.
Your storytelling, charcaters and prose are top-tier. Chapter 4 had me bawling my eyes out 😭. Tbh, I felt like i got played 🥲😂, 'cause going into this— it wasn't what I expected. I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this entire read.
But as always, I'm vibrating, looking forward to future updates. Keep up the good work author! 😊 And love the new visuals for the story btw!
Im afraid I have been soft locked during the questions with Nik in the new update. When asking a question there is no progression option and I have to use the back arrow to return to the question page. Reloading the game has not helped.

i played up to chapter 2 when it first came out, but by the time i saw the update for chapter 3, you had announced that chapter 4 would need a fresh save so i held off on playing until it released. i don't regret waiting... but now i wish i'd waited even longer because i love your writing and this story and now i desperately want to read more :']
i had played viatica before you even announced cantata, and as soon as you did i knew i was going to love it, but man... playing through it again and getting to the new content has cemented its place as my favourite IF. your world-building is just amazing and i'm so in love with the story and its characters. i fully realised the hold it has on me when it was building up to the end of ch3, and i could feel my heart beating in anticipation ><
i'll try to keep this vague so it's spoiler free, but the beginnings of ch4 and all the emotions were just so !!!!!! i love how you've done that storyline, the 2 vastly different experiences because of the same event and the different effects its had, agh </3 i won't say too much on the ending, but even though i had kind of been anticipating something similar happening, it Hurt;;
also, i adore vicente and i would do anything for them... i went into it intending to romance him because their kind of character archetype is what i usually go for, and i won't lie and say bayram and secret ro didn't make me reconsider, but seeing more of him and his interactions with the mc... i'm definitely going to be choosing him. i love their dynamic so much and i can't wait to see their relationship grow;;

Guys, your saves will not work! Even if the game allows you to upload your save, you will face game-breaking bugs, missed scenes, and incorrect variables and customization. It will break your story experience and my sanity if you come at me with a bug report because you didn’t start over. 🫵 Start over from the beginning! Enjoy!

It was fun to see Italian mixed with English as someone who speaks them both well. Though, some words were odd? I don't know if the author meant to use words from the Renaissance period or current Italian, but, if it's the latter, then there may be some minor mistakes.
As far as the language, I’m not intending to use Italian, per se—I’m using musical terms as expressions. Which also happen to be Italian. 😁 It’s not meant to be direct translations, as this is a fictional race after all and not historical fiction. Thank you!

This holds up decently well, I'd even go so far as to say it'll be able to give bigger IF's such as A Tale of Crowns a run for their money after more chapters are released. Peak fiction and epic worldbuilding

I only just found this and I binged the entire "demo" (more like a novella!) in a single sitting. Good gods the writing is spectacular and heart-wrenching, and I am desperate for the rest of the story!
I love the world-building put into it all, the descriptions of the Iredicci's abilities and culture and voices are beautiful and drew me in! Looking forward more of this wonderful work!

When I save and later load where I was last at, the music doesn't play anymore. Is there something I'm doing incorrectly? It isn't a big issue at all, I just find myself more immersed when the soundtrack is playing along. Thank you!
Hello and thank you! This is normal—the browser has no cue to start the audio track when you load a save. As soon as you hit a point where a new audio track begins (say between chapters or a change in mood) the new music will start just fine. 😊

Came over from Viatica and I gotta say I love how you write. It keeps me entertained and on the edge of my seat wanting to read. When I read Viatica, I was lucky to be able to read it without any breaks cause it was fully completed, now I must wait 😔💔. But a masterpiece takes time. My friends who I recommend Viatica to, are currently enjoying it. I have full confidence that they will read cantata too! Truly amazing at writing. You mentioned that Viatica was based off a novella you wrote 30 years ago and was inspired by dystopian literature, I was wondering if Cantata has a similar origin?
Welcome back! 🤗 No, Cantata is a brand new idea I came up with specifically as an IF. I was new to IFs a year ago and wanted to start with something familiar, hence Viatica. But this story is all new and honestly, not even fully outlined in my head, lol. It’s evolving as I write it, so we’ll all see where it goes together! 😅
i'm very new to if, thoroughly enjoyed viatica and immediately ran over to check out your other works. this was so so so delightful :D the way you write feels very genuine and brimming with life, it got me invested in the worldbuilding, story and characters right from the start. even the mc who for all intents and purposes is the way the player shapes them to be didn't feel in any way boring or like a blank slate, and was very much part of the world

As I said in the devlog, saves don’t work. That's one of the game breaking bugs I mentioned. You need to start a new play-through.

are you using a save file from before the update? because the update broke old saves, and that would be one of the ways i'd expect it to manifest.
