INSANELY hyped for this, you don’t understand … that first chapter was amazing. Oh my god. Came here from Viatica and can I just say that your writing has only gotten better and better, I swear. The music is such a nice touch, I’m not usually one for background music but something about it here just works. Loving the MC choices thus far—the explicitly trans options were not anticipated and so so absolutely loved and appreciated! <3 Mother Unda being immediately supportive, we love to see it. Such a sucker for good IF parents lol. Had a huge, dumb smile on my face while reading the first chapter—or, well. The first part, anyways. ;-; not afraid to admit that the second half had me shedding a few tears. I kept thinking of Unda, Tellus (MY BABYYY), and all of the kids we got these little glimpses of in the beginning ... augh. My heart hurts. It’s not often that an IF manages to get me so immediately attached to background characters—especially not in the first chapter!—but you’ve done it so incredibly well. Gotta mention the world building, too! Super intriguing. Now I’m stuck in this fly trap of a story and can’t escape LMAO.

just played the demo real interesting story I can’t wait to see more! My only complaint was that I couldn’t mute the music. Wouldn’t be a problem if I wasn’t paying for my phone.
I understand not everyone will like the music, but it is meant to be an integral part of the story; it mirrors the emotions the MC is experiencing. You’ll have to mute your device in order to turn it off. I appreciate you giving my story a try despite that!
The writing is solid and the inclusion of a soundtrack is fantastic but the pacing and intro lacks action, I kind of felt bored throughout the demo.
The intro should be set in the modern day where the action and drama starts with flashback scenes coming later or make the intro shorter. But overall its good.

Ok so it took me a while to get around to this one. I liked Viatica, but there were places where it felt like the writing was a bit off. The pacing felt off, the dialogue was a bit stunted (beyond just the amount you'd expect given the setting), and overall it just left an impression on me that it needed refinement. Good story, and the writing wasn't bad, but it could use some work.
I got none of that from this story. The characters are very well written, the dialogue flows naturally, and so far the pacing is excellent. It seems very clear that the author has had a ton of improvement in their writing, and I'm very excited for more of this.
I'd say the only thing I have to critique at the moment is the actual itch page. A gigantic lore dump right off the bat is exhausting to read. That lore is cool, and deserves to have its own place, but maybe there could be a short story introduction before the lore dump begins? Something to hook me and justify why I should care about any of the lore.

It is now in my head canon that Viatica takes place in the same universe (prob different time period) and that MC from Viatica was slightly attuned to fire (cuz healing).
Question I've been meaning to ask, in chapter two will we play some more as teenage/kid mc or will it time skip straight to adult at the start and just recap what happened over time?

The writing is solid and the inclusion of a soundtrack is fantastic but the pacing and intro lacks action, I kind of felt bored throughout the demo.
The intro should be set in the modern day where the action and drama starts with flashback scenes coming later or make the intro shorter. But overall its good.

Ok so it took me a while to get around to this one. I liked Viatica, but there were places where it felt like the writing was a bit off. The pacing felt off, the dialogue was a bit stunted (beyond just the amount you'd expect given the setting), and overall it just left an impression on me that it needed refinement. Good story, and the writing wasn't bad, but it could use some work.
I got none of that from this story. The characters are very well written, the dialogue flows naturally, and so far the pacing is excellent. It seems very clear that the author has had a ton of improvement in their writing, and I'm very excited for more of this.
I'd say the only thing I have to critique at the moment is the actual itch page. A gigantic lore dump right off the bat is exhausting to read. That lore is cool, and deserves to have its own place, but maybe there could be a short story introduction before the lore dump begins? Something to hook me and justify why I should care about any of the lore.

It is now in my head canon that Viatica takes place in the same universe (prob different time period) and that MC from Viatica was slightly attuned to fire (cuz healing).
